Flight crashes in Equatorial Guinea

An aircraft operated by Equatorial Guinea-registered company Equatair crashed on Saturday (16 July).

The Russian-built Antonov 32 aircraft was carrying some 55 passengers and crew on a domestic flight from Malabo to the southern town of Bata when it crashed in a forest. All those on board are believed to have died.

The aircraft disappeared from radar screens soon after taking off at 1000 GMT on Saturday, officials said. The reason for the crash has not yet been established.
