Spanish airports record increase in passenger numbers

Passenger traffic at Spain's airports increased in June 2005 from a year earlier, Spanish airport authority AENA said in a statement.
According to AENA, passenger traffic at Spain's airports rose 8.6% to 16.5m. Madrid's Barajas airport registered the most traffic in the month, with 3.5 million passengers, an increase of 5.5%, while Barcelona's El Prat airport recorded a 9.7% increase in the number of passengers, to 2.4m.
In the January-June period total passenger traffic increased 8.3% to 82.6m, reported AFX.
