Aegean Airlines announces January-June passenger traffic figures

Greek carrier Aegean Airlines announced on Wednesday (20 July) its passenger traffic figures for the first half of 2005.
The airline said the total number of passengers in the January-June period increased by 13% to over 1.85 million from about 1.64 million in the first half of 2004, and the number of travellers on international routes increased nearly 36% to 550,718 from 405,935.
In related news, beginning on 1 November Aegean will launch new services from Athens to Istanbul, Turkey, and Sofia, Bulgaria, and on 30 October it will start a code-sharing agreement with Germany airline Deutsche Lufthansa.
