The union which represents pilots at low-cost carrier AirTran Airways, a unit of AirTran Holdings Corp, said on Monday (25 July) that it would request government mediation in its contract negotiations with the airline.
The National Pilots Association (NPA), representing over 1,100 pilots at AirTran, said it would file its application with the National Mediation Board on Monday.
The NPA claims that AirTran is unwilling to negotiate and therefore mediators should establish an aggressive negotiation schedule.
