Cathay Pacific cleared for increased fuel surcharge

Cathay Pacific Airways Ltd has received approval for an increase in its fuel surcharge for long-haul flights in and out of Hong Kong.

After a one-third increase of the fuel surcharge Cathay Pacific will charge HKD332 per flight, said a spokesperson for the Civil Aviation Department, adding that the carrier was also allowed to extend its surcharges to 30 September.

The airline's surcharge of HKD86 for short flights will remain unchanged.
