A Boeing 757 aircraft operated by Thomas Cook's Condor unit made an emergency landing in Budapest yesterday (25 July) after a smoke alarm went off.

According to a spokeswoman for Budapest Airport, a smoke alarm indicated smoke in the cabin and cockpit. The aircraft landed safely and none of the 253 passengers and crew were injured.

A check of the aircraft concluded that it was a false alarm and the aircraft, which was on its way from Dusseldorf, Germany to Burgas, Bulgaria, was allowed to continue shortly after midnight local time, Reuters reported.
