Qatar Airways said it chose the mid-sized Airbus A350 over Boeing's 787 "Dreamliner" jet at the Paris Air Show on Monday (13 June).

The airline also said it would order at least 20 Boeing 777s, for delivery in 2007-2010, and up to 60 A350s, for delivery between 2010 and 2015. The order for A350s is estimated to be worth USD10.6bn, and the order for Boeing 777s is estimated at USD4.6bn, reported Reuters.

The choice between the A350 and Boeing 787 was difficult to make as both aircraft show strong advantages in different areas, said the carrier's CEO.
