New orders for Airbus aircraft

AIRLINE INDUSTRY INFORMATION-(C)1997-2005 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD

European aircraft maker Airbus announced on Wednesday (15 June) new orders for its planned A350 and A380.

GE Commercial Aviation Services (GECAS), a unit of General Electric Corp, reportedly ordered 10 A350s worth about USD1.6bn at list prices, while Indian low-cost carrier Kingfisher Airlines bought another five.

The Indian carrier has also decided to buy five A380s, worth about USD1.3bn at list prices, as well as five A330s in a combined 15-aircraft deal, estimated to be worth about USD3bn.
