Singapore's Deputy Prime Minister said on Thursday (16 June) that the Australian government's decision not to grant Singapore Airlines access to the Sydney-Los Angeles route was not permanent.

Australia's Deputy Prime Minister had reportedly said that it is not true that his government had decided to postpone indefinitely the talks on forming an open skies agreement.

As part of an open skies agreement between Singapore and Australia the Singapore carrier wants to be able to offer transpacific flights between Australia and the United States, a market that is currently shared by Qantas Airways and United Airlines.
