26% increase in passengers at Beijing airport

Beijing Capital International Airport Co, the operator of Beijing airport, has said that passenger traffic at the airport increased by 26% in May 2005 compared to the same month last year.
The airport handled some 3.31m passengers during the month, of which 77% travelled on domestic services. Of the remaining passengers 19% were using international flights and 4% travelled on Hong Kong and Macau routes.
The greatest year-on-year increase was seen on the Hong Kong and Macau services, which had 56% more passengers, while domestic flight travellers rose 27% and the number of passengers on international routes increased by 18%.
The total number of aircraft takeoffs and landings at the airport increased by 14% year-on-year in May.
