American Airlines Cargo raises fuel surcharge

American Airlines Cargo division has announced an increase in its fuel surcharge from USD0.40/kg to USD0.45/kg for most US-origin international shipments.

The division also said that it would increase the surcharge from USD0.16/lb to USD0.18/lb for US domestic shipments from 12 July 2005. According to the airline division, the fuel surcharge will also be adjusted, in local currency, for most shipments originating outside the US, unless the adjustment is not allowed for regulatory reasons.
