Norwegian Air Shuttle reports passenger numbers up by 52% in May 2005

Norwegian low-fare airline Norwegian Air Shuttle (Norwegian) reported on Tuesday (7 June) that it transported a total of 309,229 passengers in May 2005, an increase of 52% as compared to 202,929 passengers in May 2004.
The total passenger traffic (RPK) increased by 73%, while the cabin factor increased by 9 percentage points to 78%. Capacity (ASK) increased by 53%.
The domestic passenger traffic (RPK) decreased by 5% and capacity (ASK) by 2%. The international passenger traffic (RPK) increased by 183% and capacity (ASK) by 119%.
The domestic cabin factor decreased to 72% from 74% in May 2004, while the international cabin factor increased to 82% from 63%.
Norwegian estimated a yield of NOK0.70 per RPK in May 2005.
