A small aircraft operated by Clair Air crashed on a road near Puerto Rico's capital San Juan on Monday (28 February).
The flight from Puerto Rico to Virgin Gorda, British Virgin Islands, crashed on Santana Avenue near the Luis Munoz Marin airport shortly after takeoff, police said. The aircraft was carrying seven people and at least two people, the pilot and co-pilot, were critically injured. There were no injuries reported on the ground.
The cause of the crash is under investigation but it appears that the aircraft did not gain sufficient altitude before crashing, the authorities said.
