Biman Bangladesh Airlines, a state-owned airline, has revealed plans to acquire ten new wide-bodied Airbus and Boeing aircraft.

The carrier has reportedly been struggling to maintain its schedules with the old aircraft in its fleet, and wants to purchase six Airbus A330 aircraft and four Boeing 777s from the manufacturers. The airline has however said that the decision is subject to approval from the ministerial purchase committee, Reuters reported.

The catalogue price of the acquisitions has been estimated at about USD1bn.
