Boeing recognises top suppliers

AIRLINE INDUSTRY INFORMATION-(C)1997-2005 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD
Boeing Co (NYSE: BA) has given its premier supplier award to 13 companies from four countries, in recognition of commitment to excellence and customer satisfaction.
According to the company, 13 award-winning Boeing Suppliers of the Year were selected from more than 10,000 Boeing suppliers in nearly 70 countries.
Awards were given out in 13 categories: Avionics; Electronic, Hydraulic and Mechanical Systems; Major Structures; Purchased Outside Production; Propulsion; Common Aerospace Commodities; Interiors; Aerospace Support; Non-Production; Small Business; Small Minority Business Enterprise; Small Disadvantaged Business; and Small Woman-Owned Disadvantaged Business.
There was also a new category this year, Technology Advancement, which reportedly recognises a supplier who brings breakthrough technology to Boeing.
Boeing said that of the 13 recipients, three are based outside the US, and two more are owned by non-US companies; five are small businesses; one is a woman-owned company; and one is a minority owned company.
