Man arrested at Salvador airport for smuggling drugs

A Brazilian citizen was arrested on Saturday morning (26 March) for allegedly trying to smuggle cocaine onto a flight from Brazil to Spain.
Brazilian police said on Sunday that the 30-year-old man was arrested with nearly 2kg (4.4lb) of cocaine at the international airport of Salvador in northeastern Brazil. The drug was allegedly hidden inside the heels of women's shoes that were found in his luggage. The man was preparing to board a TAP Air Portugal flight to Madrid.
If convicted the man could face up to 15 years in prison.
