At least 37 people were injured, among them four seriously, when an Airbus A330-200 was hit by turbulence on Monday (28 March) as it approached Tokyo's international airport in Japan.

The turbulence occurred about 18 minutes before the EVA Airways flight from Taiwan, carrying 251 passengers, landed safely at Tokyo Narita airport, Kyodo News reported. Police believe that the passengers were unbuckling their seat belts at the time and the turbulence threw them out of their seats.
