FAA delays aircraft repair training standards requirement
Airline Industry Information, March 30, 2005

Requirements for aircraft repair companies to have training standards for their staff are being delayed for a year by the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).
The decision has reportedly been criticised by union workers who have been hit by outsourcing decisions made by airlines. Unions have also said that the delay will only help airlines avoid more costs and could also put safety at risk, Reuters reported.
The FAA on the other hand said that the delay was a necessary one because all guidelines are not yet in place and it wants to give the industry more time to provide input.
