American Airlines reports February traffic

American Airlines, a unit of AMR Corp (NYSE: AMR), has announced its February traffic figures.
In February 2005 the company recorded a load factor of 72.2%, 3.3 percentage points higher than last year. Traffic during the month grew by 2.4%, despite one less travel day compared to February 2004, while capacity declined 2.3% year-on-year. The number of passengers for the month was 6.9 million.
The company reported that its international traffic increased 11.3% compared to last year on 8.1% more capacity, while domestic traffic declined 1.4% on a 6.9% capacity reduction.
