Air Canada announces February traffic numbers

Air Canada has announced its traffic statistics for February 2005.
The mainline carrier flew 1.6% more revenue passenger miles (RPMs) in February 2005 than in February 2004. Its capacity decreased by 5.2%, resulting in a record load factor of 77.9%, compared to 72.6% in February 2004. In the domestic market capacity decreased by 6.6% and traffic decreased by 2.0%, with a load factor of 77.6% - a 3.6 percentage point increase year-on-year.
Jazz, Air Canada's regional airline subsidiary, flew 14.3% more RPMs in February 2005 than in February 2004. Capacity decreased by 4.7%, resulting in a load factor of 71.3%, compared to 59.4% in February 2004.
