Brazilian budget airline Gol Linhas Aereas Inteligentes announced on Monday (7 March) a cut in fares.
The company said that it is cutting fares by as much as 56%. For example, it would reportedly reduce its fare for the Rio de Janeiro to Sao Paulo route by 35% to BRL112 one way.
The carrier plans to build the market by increasing the number of flights or by substituting bus travel with air travel, said the company's vice president of marketing.
