Cathay Pacific Airways reports increase in passenger traffic

Hong Kong-based airline Cathay Pacific Airways has reported its passenger traffic figures for the month of April 2005.
The airline carried 1.22m passengers in April, up 10.7% from the same month last year but down slightly from the 1.26m passengers carried in March 2005 when traveller numbers increased due to Easter and the Rugby World Cup Sevens tournament.
There was a similar trend in the airline's cargo statistics, with the amount of cargo transported in April up 21.0% to 93,147 metric tons compared with April 2004, but this was below the 96,860 metric tons recorded in March this year.
