Human error was to blame for the crash of an Air China aircraft in South Korea three years ago, authorities have concluded.

According to the investigation team, which consisted of South Korean, Chinese and US officials, it was found that the pilot carried out an incorrect manoeuvre and missed the runway when he was landing. South Korea's Ministry of Construction and Transportation has said that human error was to blame for the aircraft crashing into a mountain when it was getting ready to land at an airport outside Busan.

The aircraft was carrying 166 people, of whom 129 were killed, The Associated Press reported. The flight crashed on 15 April 2002.
