Southwest Airlines has released a statement in response to the announcement by King County Executive Ron Sims that the Southwest Airlines proposal to serve Boeing Field has been rejected.
The airline said that it retains its commitment to serve the people of the Puget Sound Region. Southwest added that it continued to advance the proposal for Boeing Field until the last night before the decision, when a leadership team from its Flight Operations Department spoke to the King County International Airport Roundtable to address noise issues.
Southwest said that the airline wanted to thank the Roundtable and the other members of the community who have written, called and offered support.
