Northwest Airlines is said to be close to settling its dispute with financial services company American Express (NYSE:AXP) over money allegedly owed to the bankrupt airline.
Northwest claimed in a lawsuit filed last week against American Express that the company was withholding some USD63.4m in payments made by cardholders for flight tickets.
The two sides are discussing the claim and a lawyer for Northwest Airlines told a bankruptcy court judge on Monday (3 October) that a settlement was within reach.
