An unexploded World War II bomb has been found in a field near Amsterdam's Schiphol airport in the Netherlands.

Explosives experts decided to close the runway closest to the bomb after it was discovered by workers. ANWB, the Dutch traffic service, said that the bomb is sensitive to vibrations, located in an unsettled position and possibly live.

The air traffic at the airport may be disrupted for all of today (6 October). The bomb was made in the UK and its weight has been estimated at 230 kilos.
