France will pay for development costs for the Airbus A350 but will await results in talks between the European Union and the United States.

The president of Airbus reportedly asked for an agreement in principle regarding payment of reimbursable advances or the aircraft. France will not pay any money immediately, waiting for results in the subsidy conflict between the EU and the US. The French transport minister Dominique Perben said that there will be no immediate implementation of the aid as France wants true negotiation between the EU and the US. No advance payment has been scheduled for the 2006 budget, French newspaper La Tribune reported.
