SkyWest reports August passenger traffic figures

SkyWest Airlines Inc (Nasdaq: SKYW) has reported its August passenger traffic figures.

The airline said that it registered a 32.5% increase in revenue passenger miles (RPMs) for August, while available seat miles (ASMs) increased 32.6% year-on-year. SkyWest generated 709.9m RPMs for the month, while ASMs increased to 919.9m. The load factor decreased by 0.1 percentage points to 77.2% compared 77.3% in August 2004. The airline also reported that the passenger boardings for August totalled 1,496,462, which is a 15.4% increase year-on-year.

SkyWest currently operates as United Express and Delta Connection carriers under contractual agreements with United Airlines and Delta Air Lines.
