Icelandair reports passenger numbers up in August 2005

AIRLINE INDUSTRY INFORMATION-(C)1997-2005 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD
Iceland's FL Group hf, parent company of the airline Icelandair, reported on Friday (16 September) that Icelandair's passenger numbers increased by 19.1% to 203,000 in August 2005, as compared to August 2004.
Capacity (ASK) increased by 21.9% and sales (RPK) by 25.9%, resulting in load factor of 83.9%, up 2.7 percentage points from August 2004.
In January-August 2005 Icelandair's passenger numbers increased by 14.5% to 1,085,000, compared with January-August 2004. Capacity had increased by 15.6% and load factor by 2.4 percentage points.
Air Iceland's domestic traffic decreased by 4.6% in August 2005, and increased by 3.2% in the first eight months of the year.
