Delta Air Lines (NYSE:DAL) has said that customers booked on flights travelling to or from selected cities in Florida and the Bahamas may make adjustments to their travel schedule due to the impact of Hurricane Rita.

The airline said that it has proactively cancelled some flights in anticipation of the storm, and is currently working with customers to assist their travel plans. The impacted cities reportedly include Florida's Fort Lauderdale, Key West, Miami and West Palm Beach as well as Nassau, Bahamas.

Delta said that those customers who have purchased tickets by 19 September 2005 and are scheduled to travel on 19-21 September 2005 to, from or through selected cities on Delta, Song, Delta Connection, or Delta-coded flights, may make a one-time change without penalty or additional fees if tickets are changed by 23 September 2005 and travel begins on or before 23 September 2005.
