American Airlines and Emirates launch interline electronic ticketing

American Airlines and Emirates Airline have launched interline electronic ticketing (IET).
The two carriers said that the launch brings the number of domestic and international airlines providing IET in cooperation with American Airlines to 30, and with Emirates to five. The cooperation means that customers can use a single electronic ticket (e-ticket) when their itineraries include travel on American Airlines and Emirates.
Interline e-tickets can be issued by American Airlines and Emirates through their respective reservation centres, at airport locations, ticket offices and travel agencies.
American Airlines offers interline e-ticketing with such airlines as Alaska Airlines, America West Airlines, American Trans Air, Aloha Airlines, Continental Airlines, Delta Air Lines, Hawaiian Airlines, Midwest Airlines, Northwest Airlines, United Airlines and US Airways. American Airlines also has interline e-ticketing agreements with all seven of its oneworld Alliance partners - Aer Lingus, British Airways, Cathay Pacific, Finnair, Iberia, LAN Airlines and Qantas. In addition, American Airlines has interline e-ticketing agreements with AeroMexico, Copa Airlines, Jalways, Japan Airlines, Japan Asia Airways, KLM, LanPeru, Mexicana Airlines and SN Brussels Airlines.
Besides American Airlines, Emirates offers interline e-ticketing with United, Continental, Delta and British Airways.
