Germany's Lufthansa and Fraport, the operator of Frankfurt Airport, signed an agreement on ground handling yesterday (27 September).

Under the terms of the five-year agreement the airline will cut the cost of ground handling. According to Lufthansa the savings will be in two-digit millions of euros annually, being achieved through a combination of lower costs and more efficiency, Reuters reported.

Fraport will offset the lower ground handling fees from Lufthansa through cost savings, the CEO Wilhelm Bender has said.
