Can Tho International Airport receives upgrade

An upgrade of the Can Tho International Airport in the Mekong delta region, Vietnam has been launched.
According to an official of the Southern Airport Authority, the airport will be able to handle Boeing 767, Airbus A320 and Airbus A321 aircraft once the upgrade is finished in 2008. The airport will also be able to handle up to two million travellers annually as well as operate flights to several major destinations in Asia.
According to the Vietnam News Agency, Can Tho is situated 170 kilometres south of Ho Chi Minh City and is the biggest city in the delta.
