Indian Airlines to acquire 43 Airbus aircraft

Indian Airlines is to acquire 43 Airbus aircraft.
According to Indian prime minister Manmohan Singh, Indian Airlines is to acquire the aircraft for USD2.2bn. The deal was announced by the prime minister during the India-European Union summit in New Delhi, India.
While the prime minister did not provide any information on the types of aircraft to be acquired, the news service Press Trust of India reported that the airline would acquire 19 A319s, four A320s and 20 A321s by 2010.
Price negotiations with Airbus were reportedly concluded on 6 September.
