Flights were cancelled in Bermuda in preparation for Hurricane Nate, moving towards the island yesterday (7 September).

The authorities said that Bermuda International Airport would be open today (8 September) but a flight from Philadelphia was cancelled yesterday evening, while a British Airways flight was delayed a few hours leaving London, UK for Bermuda.

The Associated Press also reported that four cruise ships - the Horizon, the Zenith, the Norwegian Crown and the Norwegian Majesty - left the island early to stay clear of the hurricane.
