Flight attendants at Northwest Airlines (Other OTC: NWACQ.PK) have offered to send e-mail notices to travellers about strike plans.

The flight attendants have threatened to launch random and unannounced strikes after 09.01 CDT on 25 August unless the airline agrees to negotiate a new contract. In an attempt to get the labour action blocked Northwest has reportedly appealed against a decision made by a judge stating that there is no jurisdiction to block the strike.

According to The Associated Press, the strike plan is called CHAOS and rather than calling for a full-scale walkout, the plan calls for disruptions including strike plans at every second gate at an airport or short-term walkouts.

The union does will reportedly only be sending e-mails out to notify travellers of larger scale walkouts.
