Northwest Airlines reports increased quarterly loss

AIRLINE INDUSTRY INFORMATION-(C)1997-2006 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD
Northwest Airlines (Other OTC: NWACQ.PK) has reported that its loss for the second quarter has increased.
The airline said the cause of the wider loss was expenses related to its reorganisation. According to Reuters, the quarterly net loss was USD285m, as compared to USD234m for the same period last year.
Northwest also said that, excluding items related to its reorganisation, earnings were USD179m.
