Continental Airlines (NYSE: CAL) has reported a February consolidated (mainline plus regional) load factor of 76.0%.

The load factor represents a 2.1 points increase from last year's February consolidated load factor. Continental also reported a mainline load factor of 76.1%, which is 1.7 points above the February 2005 mainline load factor, and a domestic mainline load factor of 81.0%, which is 4.2 points above February 2005. The airline also said that all three were records for February.

Continental said that during February it recorded a US Department of Transportation on-time arrival rate of 71.0% and a systemwide mainline completion factor of 98.4%. These operational results were negatively impacted by the record blizzard in the north-east on the weekend of 11 February.

The airline also said that it flew 6.0bn consolidated revenue passenger miles (RPMs) and 7.9bn consolidated available seat miles (ASMs), resulting in a traffic increase of 13.0% and a capacity increase of 9.9% compared to February 2005.
