United Airlines flight diverted due to security alert

A flight operated by United Airlines, carrying 50 people to San Francisco, was diverted to Dallas on Monday (11 September) as a security measure.

A security alert was reportedly triggered after an unclaimed BlackBerry device was found on board the aircraft.

According to The Associated Press, officials had also found and removed an unidentified backpack from the aircraft before it departed from Atlanta.
