Delta aircraft makes emergency landing after reports of smoke

A report of smoke in the cabin caused a Delta Air Lines flight from New York to Seattle to make an emergency landing in Chicago late on 13 July.

The smoke was reported by the pilot, according to airline spokesman Andy McDill.

McDill also said the Delta flight 597 carried 181 passengers and crew. The aircraft landed without incident and no injuries were reported, according to The Associated Press.
