ILS to host online auction for Virgin Atlantic Airways

AIRLINE INDUSTRY INFORMATION-(C)1997-2007 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD
Inventory Locator Service LLC (ILS), an e-marketplace for the aviation industry, is to host an online auction of surplus parts for Virgin Atlantic Airways.
ILS said that this is the second auction it has hosted for the airline. The auction will begin on 20 March at 17:30 GMT and run for 24 hours.
The company also said that, in an effort to reduce excess inventory, Virgin Atlantic Airways is using ILS to host the online auction. The auction is expected to consist of one lot containing 3,973 pieces of expendables for Airbus A320 and A340 aircraft and Boeing 747-200s and 747-400s.
Most of the parts are described as being in new or new surplus condition and have full traceability.
