GE Aviation awarded USD10bn in orders

AIRLINE INDUSTRY INFORMATION-(C)1997-2007 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD
GE Aviation, a provider of commercial and military jet engines and components and a business unit of General Electric Company (NYSE: GE), announced on Friday (16 November) that the company has been awarded a total of USD10bn in product and service orders at the 10th annual Dubai Air show in Dubai, UAE.
GE Aviation said that it had received USD7.7bn worth of deals in engines, service and products. In addition, through its joint ventures, GE Aviation has been awarded approximately USD4.1bn worth of additional product and service orders.
The company said that it would be expanding its jet engine production rates by more than 50% over the next three years, to meet the strong demand for its engines.
