Continental Airlines and EDS sign IT services contract

AIRLINE INDUSTRY INFORMATION-(C)1997-2007 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD
EDS and Continental Airlines have signed a seven-year information technology (IT) services contract.
The two partners said the contract is valued at approximately USD550m and, under the terms of the agreement, EDS will manage Continental's computer environments, reservation systems, legacy application development and maintenance, field services, network and voice systems, helpdesk and complete desktop support.
Additionally, the agreement also calls for Continental and EDS to work together closely on a joint application modernisation strategy. This aims to update legacy systems to better suit the needs of Continental and its customers.
