Airline Industry Information,  April 21, 2008

AIRLINE INDUSTRY INFORMATION-(C)1997-2008 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD

Flights that were accidentally sold for EUR5 to the US by Irish carrier Aer Lingus are to be honoured by the airline.

The carrier sold the flights in error to approximately 100 passengers via its website.

According to the BBC, the carrier had initially refused to accept the bookings on business class flights, which are usually valued at GBP1,433 each way.

The airline has now confirmed that it will offer passengers who booked the flights travel in economy for the price they booked the tickets at.
