British Airways said on Tuesday (29 April) that it would increase its fuel surcharge on all tickets.
The move, which takes effect from this Friday (2 May), was blamed on continuing high oil prices.
The surcharge on tickets sold in the UK for short-haul flights will increase by GBP3 per flight, from GBP10 per flight (GBP20 return) to GBP13 per flight (GBP26 return).
For long-haul flights of less than nine hours the surcharge will increase by GBP10 per flight, to GBP63 per flight (GBP126 return). For longer trips the fuel surcharge will increase by GBP15 per flight, to GBP79 per flight (GBP158 return).
