US Airways (NYSE:LCC) has announced that it will accept tickets from passengers who were scheduled to fly on Skybus Airlines flights to/from Skybus's former operational centres at Columbus, Ohio and Greensboro, N.C., for standby travel.
The airline said Skybus customers will be able to travel for a USD50 fare per person per non-stop segment, plus applicable taxes and fees on US Airways flights to/from Columbus and Greensboro and various cities, on a space available standby basis.
The cities include Boston (BOS); Hartford, Conn. (BDL); Newburgh, N.Y. (SWF); Philadelphia; Richmond, Va.; Chattanooga, Tenn.; Jacksonville, Fla.; Daytona Beach, Fla.; Fort Myers, Fla.; Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; Milwaukee; Kansas City; Burbank, Calif.; Los Angeles (LAX); Oakland, Calif.; and San Francisco (SFO).
The airline advised that space is very limited, that travel must be completed by 11 April 2008 and that it will transport Skybus customers to the airport nearest their Skybus ticketed destination.
Standby tickets may be bought exclusively via US Airways phone reservations and can not be purchased at the airport. Customers must show proof of purchase on Skybus at the time of check-in in order to benefit from this offer.
