Great Lakes Aviation announces preliminary passenger traffic results for March 2008

Preliminary passenger traffic results for March 2008 have been announced by Great Lakes Aviation Ltd (OTCBB:GLUX), which provides scheduled passenger service at 45 US airports, with scheduled service generating 13.907m revenue passenger miles (RPMs), representing a 12.2% increase from 12.392m for March 2007.

The company reported a 9.1% increase in available seat miles (ASMs) to 28,233m compared to 25.874m for March 2007, with load factor increasing 1.4 points to 49.26%. It said passengers carried increased 12% to 51,069 compared to 45,605 for March 2007, while preliminary revenue per available seat mile (RASM) increased by 12% from USD0.2887 to USD0.3233.

Great Lakes Aviation reported a 13.4% increase in RPMs to 38.077m for the three months ending 31 March 2008, compared to 33.581m for the same period in 2007. ASMs increased 13.2% to 82.941m from 73.252m, producing a 45.91% load factor for the year 2008, effecting a 0.1 point increase in load factor, compared to the same three month period last year.

In addition, the company confirmed it carried 141,138 revenue passengers for the three months ending 31 March 2008, representing a 12.9% increase from 124,980 for the previous year, while RASM increased 8.4% from USD0.2815 to USD0.3052 on a year-on-year basis.
