Alaska Airlines announces new services between mainland and Maui

New service between the mainland and Maui, Hawaii, has been announced by Alaska Airlines, with year round daily flights between Seattle and Kahului, Maui, due to begin on 17 July 2008, followed by seasonal flights between Anchorage and Kahului to operate twice weekly from 31 October to 25 April 2009.

The airline said the flights will be available for purchase starting from 09:00 local time on 10 April 2008 and will provide connections to travellers in other cities served by Alaska Airlines and Horizon Air, in the Pacific Northwest and state of Alaska.

The flights from Seattle will depart daily at 08:20 Pacific time, arriving 11:35 Hawaii time, with return flights departing 13:05 Hawaii time, arriving 21:45 Pacific time.

Flights from Anchorage will depart at 14:20 Alaska time on Fridays and Saturdays, arriving at 18:35 Hawaii time in Maui, with return flights departing 20:45 Hawaii time, arriving at 05:00 Alaska time.

The airline confirmed that the new flights will be operated with Boeing 737-800 aircraft, accommodating 16 passengers in first class and 141 in the main cabin, with all flights offering the airline's Northern Bites service and digEplayer personal entertainment service.

Alaska Airlines is offering introductory one-way fares of USD249 for Seattle-Maui and Anchorage-Maui flights, with customers to purchase tickets by 24 April 2008 for travel by 17 December 2008. Additional restrictions, blackout dates, taxes and charges apply.
