A service was launched between Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) and Seattle Tacoma International Airport (SEA) on 8 April by Virgin America, providing three daily flights, with a fourth roundtrip to be introduced on 11 May.

The airline said fares for the LAX-SEA service start from USD79 one way, in the main cabin, and USD199 one way in first class, are non-refundable and non-transferable and are subject to an advance purchase policy.

Tickets must be purchased by 16 April 2008 for main cabin travel commencing on or after 21 May and completed by 11 June 2008, with changes or cancellations subject to a USD40 fee and any applicable increase in fare. Tickets for first class travel must be completed before 11 June 2008, with changes or cancellations incurring any applicable increase in fare. Other charges, including taxes, may apply.

According to Virgin America, a live performance by The Donnas rock-n-roll band was scheduled at departure Gate 67B at LAX, prior to take-off, with guests on the first flight enjoying champagne cocktails and in-flight performances by Cisco Adler, Michael Tolcher and Bamboo Shoots.
