United announces new operations VP

AIRLINE INDUSTRY INFORMATION-(C)1997-2008 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD

UAL Corporation (Nasdaq: UAUA), the holding company that owns United Airlines, announced on 20 August that Donald Dillman has been named as vice president of Operations Control.

Dillman will be responsible for flight dispatch, system controllers, aircraft routers, maintenance workload planners, air traffic control coordination and strategy, meteorology and operational engineering. The Operations Control Center that he will head makes decisions affecting United's daily mainline flights.

Dillman has joined United from American Airlines, where began his airline career as a pilot in 1984. His last post at American was as managing director for the airline's operations centre.
